Kristi House’s Dawn Thompson discusses human trafficking in an interview on Comcast Newsmakers with Phil Latzman. She explains the problem Kristi House identified at airports and seaports where the relationship of youth to the adults transporting them goes unchecked. This makes ports easy points of entry for traffickers, particularly for those who are sexually exploiting children across state lines.

In partnership with Miami-Dade County, Miami International Airport, American Airlines, PortMiami and Royal Caribbean, Kristi House developed a program, “The Route Ends Here” to teach port personnel at every level of service—from janitors to ticket takers—the signs of potential trafficking, and how to respond. The program was rolled out last year with support from the National Children’s Alliance, and is available to other ports around the U.S.
