Kristi House is thrilled to welcome Marin, Eljaiek, Lopez Attorneys at Law as the “Diamonds & Pearls” Presenting Sponsor of the Roaring 20’s Soiree to be held Friday, November 6, at Miami’s Four Seasons Hotel. The firm made a generous gift of $25,000 to help underwrite expenses for the evening so that proceeds raised can go directly toward services for child sexual abuse victims.

Partners at Marin, Eljaiek, Lopez, also known as the MEL Lawyers, have joined Kristi House in celebrating a milestone year in 2015: Twenty years of healing the hearts of children who have been sexually abused. 

“Our friends at Marin, Eljaiek, Lopez, along with a host of other major donors, are helping to ensure that Kristi House services remain at no cost to clients,” Event C0-Chair Maria Maloof said. “Kristi House has a 20-year legacy to uphold of never turning away a child in need, enabled by a generous community who knows the importance of having Kristi House for child-victims of heinous sexual crimes.”

This elegant evening befitting 20 years of service will have all the hallmark features of Kristi House’s long-running, signature Touch a Heart Dinner – great cuisine, great wine and a luxury auction – with added live orchestra music, dancing, cigars and brandy to cap off the evening. Transported back to times of back-room, prohibition era antics, the evening promises a roarin’ good time!

Funds raised at this event will go toward providing therapy, case coordination and transportation for child who have been sexually abuse and those who have been commercially sexually exploited.

“Sadly, childhood sexual abuse is not limited by socio-economic status, race, religion or nationality,” Kristi House Executive Director Claudia Kitchens said. “However, most of the children who come to us are from low income households, which is why community support, and the incredible lead gift from the MEL lawyers, is so critical to helping those who would have no other place to turn to for help.”

Maria Maloof is joined by Co-Chair Kara Zeder in heading up the event which is being planned and orchestrated by a dedicated volunteer committee. The Honorary Wine Committee includes some of South Florida’s top collectors and wine aficionados, and is headed up by Sue Gallagher, Kate Callahan and Peter Benjamin.

The Four Seasons’ Chef Aaron has created a scrumptious gourmet dinner menu. Beloved stalwart Kristi House supporters at Republic National Distributing Company will be providing the fine wine pairings. The auction will feature one-of-a-kind, not-available-in-stores experiences, fine wines and select luxury items, such as a round of golf for four with Miami Heat’s Shane Battier at Riviera Country Club. The winner of this sports experience will have exclusive social media bragging rights…something you can’t buy in stores.
