Nicole Kidman Joins Kristi House CEO Amanda Altman on the Barrett-Jackson Auction Block Raising $700,000 for Kristi House Kids
The 2023 Las Vegas Auction proved to be quite the showstopper on Super Saturday, with super cars and superstars taking center stage and raising tremendous support for Kristi House.
Award-winning actress, producer, and humanitarian Nicole Kidman was greeted with thunderous applause when she joined Kristi House’s CEO Amanda Altman and Barrett-Jackson’s CEO Craig Jackson and President Steve Davis for the auction of a 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.
This 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 sold not once, but twice. The first winning bidder donated his $400,000 bid to Kristi House and the car itself back to sell again, for a total of $700,000 — with 100% of the hammer price benefiting Kristi House. Kidman was on the auction block and generously donated two kisses and VIP tickets to one of her husband Keith Urban’s concerts to sweeten the deal.
The winner is able to customize his Challenger from all available factory options, as well as enjoy the exclusive opportunity to select a custom exterior color to make his truly a one-of-one vehicle. The car represents automotive history as it features the first-ever 1,000-plus horsepower production HEMI engine. It goes from zero to 60 mph in 1.6 seconds.
“All of us at Kristi House are deeply grateful to Barrett-Jackson and Dodge for working with us to make this happen,” Ms. Altman said. “We thank them, Nicole Kidman and the two incredibly generous buyer-donors for enabling healing services that children need to recover from innocence-robbing abuse and exploitation.”
Barrett-Jackson hosts the world’s greatest collector car auctions. President Davis explained their charitable support: “This was an opportunity for the collector car hobby to come together to make a real difference in the lives of children who need it the most. It was exciting and heartwarming to share the positive energy this historic moment represented when it crossed our auction block in Las Vegas.”
