1. Mental Health Therapist (Full-Time)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Kristi House is currently seeking Licensed Therapists to provide a mix of telehealth and face-to-face sessions. Therapists will have one location to work from and can choose between Miami Gardens, Downtown Miami, South Miami, or Homestead.

Kristi House is dedicated to eradicating child abuse and child sex trafficking – working nationally on solutions, and locally to heal child-victims. Kristi House provides an integrated solution for families navigating the complex services involved in the healing process.

This is a Master’s level (Full-time: 40 hours per week, Part-time: 10 – 32 hours per week) position designed to provide therapeutic services to child sexual abuse victims, physical abuse victims, and/or children who have experienced sex trafficking, along with their parents/caregivers. The therapist is responsible for carrying a therapeutic caseload for Kristi House clients, including individual, group, and family therapy. The position reports to the Clinical Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Clinical Social Work, Mental Health, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • A minimum of 1 year Masters level experience working with emotionally disturbed children and adolescents.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide office, in-home or teletherapy for children and their caregivers who are overcoming sexual abuse.
  • Serve on call for critical incidents and ongoing consultation.
  • Maintain professional standards regarding client record keeping and confidentiality.
  • Monitor clients’ clinical progress during the course of treatment via clinical assessment tools.
  • Prepare treatment plans/treatment plan reviews/termination summaries and closing documents.
  • Maintain contact with KH case coordinators and other agencies co-located at the Center to ensure communication among agencies involved with the family.
  • Prepare for and attend weekly supervision to discuss client’s progress, therapists’ needs and administrative paperwork.
  • Assess clients/families for co-occurring disorders and make referrals as needed.
  • Attend bi-weekly group supervision and monthly psychiatric case review.
  • Lead a therapeutic group at KH such as Teen Group, Pathways, or Parents Group.
  • Perform and be available as back up for initial clinical intake assessments.

2. Transportation Coordinator - Project GOLD South

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position designed to provide transportation services to members who are victims or at risk of sexual exploitation, their caregivers, and staff. An employee in this position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of transportation for members with the assistance of the Youth Advocates and Project GOLD support staff. Work is performed under the supervision of the Project GOLD Youth Advocate – Group Program Coordinator.  Performance is monitored through periodic and annual job evaluation processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Safe driving record-Driving record check required.
  • Bilingual – English and Spanish or English and Haitian Creole preferred.
  • Trauma-informed training and experience transporting at-risk youth and families, or related population preferred.
  • Survivors of commercial sexual exploitation/human trafficking/people with lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The person in this position is required to work a 40-hour week using flex time as needed to facilitate early and late pickups.  When there are no scheduled pickups, the driver is expected to be on site at one of the Project GOLD locations from approximately 12 noon to 8 p.m. to perform work-related tasks as required.

 

  • Provide transportation for program members daily between their neighborhoods and the Drop in Center, coordinating with Project GOLD personnel, girls participating in the program and professionals from other agencies. Utilize the lengthy drive times to provide positive feedback to members, role modeling and encouragement.
  • Observe and report information regarding members to the appropriate staff, maintain log of participation.
  • Accompany members to/from vehicle to/from home, school or office as needed ensuring girls feel safe before leaving them.
  • Calculate times/distances and navigate geographical areas of Miami-Dade County as needed to ensure punctual arrival to appointments.
  • Ensure passengers follow safety rules of the vehicle–wearing seat belt, remaining seated during trip, sitting in appropriate location, behaving appropriately.
  • Transport and accompany staff as needed on home visits to meet with members.
  • Monitor, schedule, and record maintenance of the vehicle as it requires, including regular cleaning (inside/outside), oil changes, etc. using vehicle maintenance chart.
  • Use vehicle only for agency purposes: to/from Driver’s point of origin to members home, school and/or the office. The van is to be secured at the approved Kristi House location when not in use for agency purposes. Weekend personal use of the vehicle is prohibited.
  • The position must implement and comply with emergency evacuation procedures–attend training as required.
  • Participate in agency-wide events, staff meetings, community outreach, public presentations as needed.
  • Perform related work and provide Project GOLD members assistance as required.
