The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County will be promoting the Look Beneath the Surface campaign from the Office on Trafficking in Person with support from the Department of Health and Human Services. January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking awareness month, and in part the Department will be supporting this awareness campaign through specific activities.

 This year we will host a film screening on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 8 am to 12 pm showing the film Selling the Girl Next Door (2011). After the showing will follow a question and answer panel discussion with experts in this field. Space is limited, so registration is required.

Kristi House Project GOLD Director, Marta Hasty, will be one of the featured panelists at the event.
