A virtual and in-person no-cost presentation, panel and discussion on violence against Indigenous men and boys, inclusive of human trafficking. This event is sponsored by Hard Rock and Seminole Gaming Department of Diversity and Social Responsibility, and Kristi House’s Bridges to the Futures Program and Giant Slayer through funding from the United States Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime.
During this training, male-identifying as well as Two-Spirit subject-matter experts will deliver training content related to:
1) Cultural competence and humility
2) Intergenerational trauma experienced by Indigenous males
3) Various forms of violence experienced by Indigenous males
4) Health and psychological impact of trauma
5) Effective services responses
Attendees will have an opportunity to engage with speakers and other participants about national and local barriers to preventing violence, how to improve organizational capacity and lived-experience-informed strategic recommendations moving forward.
