SERVICES
Therapy is a critical component in helping children overcome the trauma of abuse. While child sexual abuse has been Kristi House’s specialty since founding, its mental health unit has the proven treatment interventions for many types of childhood trauma.
As the state-designated Children’s Advocacy Center, Kristi House is responsible for coordinating all child abuse cases in Miami-Dade County, with six partner agencies to form a multidisciplinary team.
Kristi House provides a Food Pantry of non-perishable foods and household supplies for its families to help them overcome the upheaval and turmoil wrought by allegations of abuse.
Kristi House family advocates work directly with families to gain access to supportive agencies. We provide a vital support system to victims, encouraging them to pursue all avenues of treatment and all legal means to stop the abuse and ensure long-term recovery.
Kristi House delivers best practice programs for schools, community groups, corporations and faith-based organizations, with different courses specifically geared for children, parents and providers.
Family Advocates and Therapists at Kristi House link clients to needed services and resources in Miami-Dade provided by other community organizations and public agencies.
A Kristi House therapist may refer a child victim for an evaluation to the in-house Doctor of Psychiatry. Such a referral typically happens only when the therapist feels the child would benefit from such an evaluation.
Transportation ensures all children and teens can access our services.
Kristi House accepts referrals from other agencies, service providers, teachers, and individuals. Email the completed form to referrals@kristihouse.org and call us with any questions.
